Tourists flock Boracay Island during a pandemic

More than a million international and local tourists visited Boracay Island from January to July since the pandemic, keeping its spot as one of the top destinations in the country.
977,474 arrivals were domestic tourists. 35,575 foreigners and 19,094 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) visited the island.
Boracay Island by Time Magazine among the “World’s Greatest Places” encourages more tourists to visit.
Given that tourists must be completely vaccinated. International flights are resumed at Kalibo International Airport.
There were more than two million visitors to Boracay in 2019. Only 334,455 tourists arrived in 2020. #
